If you were approved for a federal tax extension, then the State of Maryland will automatically grant you a six-month tax extension. If you were not approved for a federal tax extension, or you need to make a state tax payment, you'll need to submit Maryland Form 502E (PDF).

Filing for a Maryland tax extension will not grant you extra time to pay any tax balance due. Your balance must be paid by April 15 to avoid possible penalties.

If you already received an approval notification from ExpressExtension, and you don't need to make a tax payment, then you're all done.

The State of Maryland requires you to file separately for a 6-month business income tax extension (7 months for C-corporations), regardless of whether you were granted a federal extension.

Filing for a Maryland tax extension will not provide you with additional time to pay any tax balance due, which must be paid by your business income tax deadline or interest and other payment penalties may apply.
